FAQ

What are "Sachmerkmale"?

Structured, technical product attributes – for example voltage, length, material or cable included. The app manages them centrally and displays them in the storefront as a "technical data" table.

Can I edit attributes directly in the app?

The attribute list is read-only. Attributes, categories and values are created and changed via Import or the ERP interface. This keeps a single, traceable source for changes.

How do product and variant values differ?

Product values apply to all variants and are inherited. A variant value of the same attribute overrides the product value – but only for that variant. Details in the Product preview.

Do I have to create categories in advance?

No. During Import, missing categories are created automatically if you provide kategorie (and optionally kategorie_name).

Why doesn't an attribute appear in the storefront?

Most common reasons: the attribute is inactive, the product/variant has no value for it, or the theme block is not placed yet. See Troubleshooting.

What value types are there?

string (text), number (number, optionally with unit), boolean (Yes/No) and richtext (formatted text). More under Attributes & categories.

Can I import attributes from my ERP?

Yes. The data set is fully maintainable through the Shopify API, so a connector (e.g. Sage) can synchronize the attributes automatically. See ERP synchronization.

Does the app store customer data?

No. The app stores no buyer or customer data. Details under Legal.

Does the app support multiple languages?

Categories and attributes are set up as translatable (Shopify translations). Translations can be maintained through the API or the ERP sync.
